Emergency gas cut off switch
Emergency gas cut off switch
All production fuel (petrol) injected cars, by government legislation, have as standard, an Inertia cut of switch - not unlike a Tilt switch' as fitted to pin ball machines.
So, if you are unlucky enough to be involved in a accident or collision, at least the fuel at high pressure (supplied via a EFI petrol pump) will always be shut down.
This means that you will not be subjected to high pressure fuel continuously pumped onto the road, or inside your car at the scene of a crash. Thus the obvious resultant fire risk is not only minimalised but in most cases abated completely.
So what about your LPG Car ?
Its true that all are now fitted with an electronic solenoid cut off valve that shuts down your Lpg. tank and pressurised supply - if the ignition cuts out.
But what about if it does not ?
What's going to shut down the gas supply to ruptured LPG pipes?.
The answer is simple..............nothing.
Its a worst case scenario indeed, but if a shut down system is required for a petrol engine, then why is such a system not part of the LPGA code of practise ?
Here we are offering another RPi safety and low cost initiative
Yes amazingly Its not even expensive, and wiring into in any existing LPG system takes only minutes not hours. An example of yet another RPi. LPG. product that cuts through red tape to deliver what you need.
In buying this product we will endeavour to help you wire it into whatever LPG system you have. None should be beyond us, or beyond you.
However as their have been so many LPG systems/variants produced in the past 20 years we cannot supply wiring in instructions for all; But with only 3 wires and a basic need to interrupt the power supply to the LPG tank solenoid, it certainly isn't Rocket science.
